Put a stop to procrastination with LMC Interactive Services’ tips

Procrastination is a massive hindrance when it comes to a person trying to achieve a set of goals. Outsourced sales and marketing firm, LMC Interactive Services are keen to remove the obstacles that cause procrastination in an attempt to build a highly productive and successful workforce.

Earlier in 2013, a survey conducted by salary.com found that 69 per cent of workers stated that they wasted time regularly at work on a daily basis; a five per cent increase since the year before. With reports of some working procrastinating for hours each working day. LMC Interactive services were shocked by these findings and believe that productivity can be boosted if more firms took the time to investigate the cause of procrastination and attempted to combat this on a regular basis.

The firm encourages their representatives to beat procrastination and maximise productivity by following these techniques:

Don’t be overwhelmed – it is easy to become overwhelmed by tasks, meetings and deadlines. To lighten the load, break down goals into smaller, more manageable tasks. Reducing everything to smaller components allows a person to get a clearer picture of what they need to do.

Prioritise the most difficult task – If there’s a certain task that is tedious or difficult, make that the priority so that it will be easier to eliminate the task quicker and move on to other things.

Kill Distractions – While it is easy to procrastinate with the countless distractions that surround us in our immediate environment, there is a way to counteract it. Instead of constantly checking social media, log out during work hours and instead focus on the tasks and nothing else. Do whatever it takes to get into the zone! Once in don’t leave the zone.

Manage time well! – The transition from a constant procrastinator to an organised member of the team takes building a certain mind set. One way to do this is to schedule the day, tasks, whatever it is regularly. Be dedicated to mapping out some self-discipline.

The early bird gets the worm –  Go to bed longing to start the day in the morning! Dawn has been cited to be the most productive part of the day. That hour of the morning brings minimal distractions, try to get parts of the work done early in the morning.
